CHRONICLER of daily life & familiar places
ARTIST & MUSICIAN | Yorkshire Man
“I often wonder what people make of me, I’ll tell you if you listen carefully. I’ll help you understand as simply as I can, I’m just…
… an old fashioned man”
“
“I like to draw and paint pictures which end up looking a bit like drawings, a bit like prints and a bit like paintings all at the same time. You could say the style is quite simplistic, almost childlike and I’d agree. The artwork, like my music, is ultimately celebratory and intended to inspire, inform and entertain.”
INSPIRATIONS | Artists & Places
“I can remember a picture from when I was small, it hung on my Grandmother’s living room wall. A landscape in winter from a hill looking down, right over the roof tops of a factory town…
… Peter Brook’s paintings are the best I’ve seen yet”

The West Ridings In Winter
“This is inspired of course by a town in the north, up where the Calder runs through. Oh I love it I do, I live here with you, it’s not much but for us it’s alright…
… nowhere quite like Brighouse on a Saturday night.”
BIOGRAPHY | Hello I’m Roger Davies
Brighouse based singer/songwriter and artist. I went to art college before my singing career took centre stage. A graduate of Batley School of Art and the recipient of the John James Hamer Award from the Huddersfield Art Society, my pictures are inspired by my songs and experiences as a working musician.
Hard work and good fortune led me to successfully participate in the BBC TV series, “Home is where the art is”. My art and story have been featured in the Yorkshire Post and I’ve enjoyed three sell out shows in the Harrison Lord Gallery.
My music and art are inextricably linked labours of love.
“
“Familiar local scenes depict people, shop fronts, pubs and other buildings in a style which demonstrates a flair and enthusiasm for the subject which is uniquely his own.”
